While we were planning out trip to Vienna, we watch this video from Rick Steves. I like to watch these videos and read his guidebooks for logistics and ideas. However, often when it comes to food and accommodation, I become a bit wary of the recommendations. This is not because I fear the recommendation will be bad. Not that’s not the case. Rather, I fear that the location becomes so popular with readers of the books that it is no longer like engaging with a foreign culture, but meeting up with people from home.
So, when he mentioned a popular eatery in central Vienna I was both very interested and a little hesitant. The eatery is Trzesnievski highlighted is a small location with just a few table tables indoors and a few stand-up tables outside serving a variety of open-faced sandwiches. I was really hoping to try when we visited Vienna in 2019.
However, I was relatively unfamiliar with Vienna, the layout and how near or far sights were from each other. I was pleasantly surprised, though when it turned out to be literally across the street from out airbnb apartment.
